I am Maria-Albina Correa Malachowska, born in 1968 in Lima, Perú. My love for art led me to study interior design, painting, and sculpture. After my studies, I worked in interior design and upholstery.
A significant opportunity came when I designed for skilled weavers in Peru’s highlands, enhancing my design skills and valuing craftsmanship. My Passion for Design didn´t stop there, I continued painting and designing interiors.
While I’m passionate about oil painting, capturing the ocean’s beauty and architecture, I’ve moved to Sitges, Spain, for fresh inspiration.
Alongside painting, I design silk scarves inspired by my art. Each unique design is based on my oil paintings, digitally printed in limited editions. I’m excited to share my passion and craft with you. Experience wearing a beloved painting as a scarf and feel the beauty come alive.
The Design Process
The design process starts with the oil painting I want to use. I take a picture of it and upload it to my computer. Then, I edit the image using design software to get the colors and attributes I need for the scarf. Once I’m happy with the digital version, I begin designing the scarf itself, considering the right proportions and colors.
After the design is complete, I send it to a manufacturer who specializes in printing on silk. They print the design on the silk fabric and finish it with a hand-rolled hem, which adds a special touch. When I receive the finished scarves, I carefully check each one to make sure they meet my high standards.
To present the scarves beautifully, I wrap them carefully in packaging. Each package includes a card that shows the original painting the scarf is based on, adding a personal touch and connecting the wearer to the artwork.
The whole process, from painting to scarf creation, is a labor of love. I take great pride in seeing my artwork turned into wearable pieces that can be enjoyed by others.
